When should I get my Senior Pictures done?
What is the right time for Senior pictures? Senior year is busy! Who are we kidding, every year is busy!!! But Senior year is especially so as it seems like every week there is another ‘last’ to consider. Last first day of school, last homecoming, last football game, last Holiday break. S0, when is the right time to schedule your Senior Photo session?
There are a number of factors to consider when answering this question.
- Are there school atheletic facilities or uniforms that you want to include in your photos that you can only access at certain points during the year?
- Is there a season of the year that you love more than the others? Do you want spring flowers, fall leaves, etc.
- Does your school have a yearbook photo deadline?
We typically recommend the summer before your Senior year as the best time to schedule your Senior Portrait Experience. This may seem early to some, and Senior Portraits may the last thing you are thinking of as you work through summer camp and vacation schedules. But we typically find that families enjoy having the flexibility to come in without having to miss school. And it’s nice to have this checked off your list as your prepare for that Senior school year. Most schools have yearbook deadlines in November and December so it’s important to make sure you are scheduled in time to accomodate those dates in advance.
How far in advance do I need to schedule?
The answer to this question will vary from studio to studio but we recommend deciding which studio you will use and getting on their calendar no later than June following your Junior year. The more full service and in demand your studio is, the earlier you may need to schedule.
